Midsummer Sprigs ABCs Cross Stitch Sampler PatternThis counted cross stitch sampler was inspired by the cut paper flower mosaics made by 18th century English artist Mary Granville Delany. Mary Delany began making her gorgeous collages at the age of seventy two, and over the next sixteen years (until her eyesight failed at age eighty eight) created over one thousand botanically accurate paper flowers. This is my tribute to her work. It is stitched on 28 count Cashel linen made by the Zweigart company

I designed this piece after seeing the 2019 movie version of Little Women directed by Greta Gerwig

and leather cord pictured in the product photo are not included in the kit

which has been making sewing tools since 1833 in Normandy

Hearts are 6mm in length and 5mm wide

Knitting patterns

One 14" x 16" (36cm x 41cm) piece of 32-count evenweave linen from Wichelt in Antique Ivory

It is stitched on 28-count linen (that's 14 stitches per inch) with two-plies of DMC six-ply cotton embroidery floss

OR DMC 6-strand cotton floss

and #938 (brown)

It will fit all animals in the Little Animal Family and the Dovegray Dolls
