Ed Payne Fly Rod 8'9" 3/2 #3/4An 8'9" very early Ed Payne, 3 piece 2 tip built with a slow wet fly action for a #3 or #4 line. This rod was refinished by me in the early '80s. Done in chinese red with black edges and chinese red intermediates. Leonard catskill like signature wraps over light colored cane. An extra fine tapered grip. Payne 9'6" 3pc light salmon rod for a #7 line with two mids and two tips

The large (12 corks) 6" grip is deeply sculpted to a hand-fitting fish-tail shape

In a stroke of luck I had just acquired tooling which would allow me to make the Payne style acorns which I had long admired

Ferrules fit like new
