The butt is 1 1 2" shorter than the tip, so the total length when put together is 8' 7 1 2". The conclusion is that the ferrule broke off and was re done at the factory leaving the butt short. Used fair condition with some varnish scrapes and chips. One hook dig behind the lettering. The original owners' name is inked on the butt
