Having a meaningful portrait of yourself is important

I was clearly channeling Eugène Atget when I made the choice to sway the focus with an extreme tilt also causing the vignette

I first discovered curated windows on the front of homes in Central Europe when I was traveling in Prague

It often happens that way for me

Because I use film and make handmade prints the image has to compel me forward through the process

I love serendipity

I was struck by the timeless beauty and yes sadness it showed me

I also admire them for taking advantage of the space to make some beauty for the rest of us

ornate old Cathedrals in France they start to seem commonplace

and surroundings were all new to me as this was the first time I traveled outside the US
