HL Leonard Hunt Model 40-5 Bamboo Fly Rod 8' 2/2 #5An HL Leonard model 40 5 bamboo fly rod, 8', 2 piece, 2 tip, and built for a #5. Serial #80129 dating to 1980 during the Maxwell period. Fast action. Fair used condition, with two clear wraps, one on the butt 3 1 2" long between the top two guides, and the other on one tip 3" long below the bottom guide (I believe I may have been the one who did this repair in the early 1980s). The rod also has some scratches in the varnish and one partly re varnished

Stewart makes these bench-made reels out of Glasgow Scotland and they are done in the classic S-handle tradition with a Bogdan-inspired drag system
