No line grooves. The original ebonite handle spins freely as it should. The tensioner on this reel works great. Gear teeth and dual pawls are in great shape with very sharp points. Frame has knurled edges. Reel weighs 12. 4 oz. Original ribbed brass reel foot (straight and full length).
