The image is housed in a brass mat with a floral corner design and an oval opening, with a preserver. The case half features gilt tooled edges. A later applied paper label affixed to the reverse is ink inscribed "Jean Fobes? 2nd wife of Charles Noble Emerson." The question mark following the surname appears to be original to
