LARGE FRENCH MONTPARNASSE CARVED FRAMED MIRRORBeautiful early 20th Century French Louis XV style framed mirror. With lovely old foxed mirror glass and Montparnasse carved frame with original paint and patination. Montparnasse frames are from the 20th Century and are reputed to be designed by the many Russian painters who had begun to congregate in the Montparnasse area between 1908 1914. Since they were artists with very little means, they carved the frames themselves from modest pine and left
Condition: In excellent condition with some wear to zinc liner commensurate with age and use
giving the surface its distinctive softness and subtle color variation
