Paul Young Texas General Fly Rod 8'6" 2/2 #7/8A nice Paul Young "Texas General" bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 2 piece, 2 tip, and built for a #7 line. Fast action. 5. 3 oz. The original owners name and the date of April 1953 are both inked on the rod. The rod appears to be mint. I see no sign of brassing to the inner guides. Very powerful rod for a 7 weight and should cast a country mile. The cane is flamed with dark patches. Nodes are two opposed. The main wraps are a bronze gold color. Guides are high

The S-shaped handle has been carefully counter-balanced to prevent the slightest shudder in a reel running at high speed

The grip is a 6" long full wells

For sale here is a Charlton 8450C fly reel with 3/4 spool in unused condition

A nice little Bo Mohlin Midge trout reel

A front cork check that appears to be made of Delrin or perhaps Tennite

Near mint condition bordering on true mint - despite both reel and spool having a line loaded on them
