Lot 015 - Antique Wood Engraving Framed Print of Fire Drill on Boston Common, 1851, from Gleason's Pictorial, 14-1/4" W x 12-1/8" HAntique wood engraving depicting a fire drill demonstration on Boston Common in 1851. The scene shows a large gathering of spectators in mid 19th century dress watching firefighters operating hand pumped fire engines and wheeled equipment. A tall flagpole with the American flag dominates the center of the composition. Large trees frame the scene, and various fire companies with their equipment are arranged across the common while crowds of men, women,
The sign features open pierced lettering set within a horizontal bar frame with scrolled mounting tabs at each end

The print is presented in a carved cross-corner wood frame with scalloped edges
