Lot 052 - Antique Octagonal Black Transferware Plate, Central Wild Horses Scene, Border with Horse Vignettes, John Goodwin, Seacombe, Liverpool, note poor condition, 12-3/4" WAn antique octagonal earthenware plate with black transferware decoration. The central roundel depicts wild horses in a landscape setting with hunters on horseback looking on. The broad border contains six oval vignettes showing various horse scenes, alternating with floral and foliate ornamentation against a dark ground. The octagonal form features a scalloped edge with gilt trim. Manufactured by John Goodwin, Seacombe, Liverpool. The underside bears
