Sage 505L Fly Reel [SALE PENDING]A nice Sage 505L fly reel, set up for LHW. This reel was made exclusively for Sage by Hardy Bros. of England. This is the Sage equivalent of the Hardy St. John or JLH and Sage had them add a palming rim. Good used condition with some wear to the finish on the rims, some mounting marks on the foot, and overall light cosmetic wear. Reversible single screw nickel silver line guide. Strong smooth drag with a loud outgoing click. Designed to hold lines

It appears that the rod accepted a fighting butt originally but has since been lost

apply a bit of varnish to it to secure it for the future (pics shown are "before")

Comes with a very nice zippered Hardy case

it was a very special one

The grip is 5 1/2" and shaped to a slim cigar

Slide band reel seat over a Spanish cedar spacer

The seat wood is smokey banded walnut that is flatted and varnished

One could easily be made if one so desired

The two tips are distinguished by a 1 or 2 at the ferrule along with the serial number

The cork shows only the lightest of handling marks

The rod tube has a neat "A&F Abercrombie & Fitch
