Lot 038 - Vintage Folk Art Painted Wooden Cutout Dog Doorstop, Signed John Penasack, 11-3/8" HVintage folk art painted wooden cutout doorstop in the form of a seated dog with tall upright ears, painted black with white eyes and nose. The flat silhouette figure is screwed to a flat wooden base. The underside is signed in pencil "John Penasack." The black paint shows widespread scratching and surface wear exposing the wood beneath, consistent with use as a doorstop.

The jar includes a Polaroid photograph of an elderly woman holding the jar in the 1980s

A mark on the side of the piece says Houston
