Out My Studio Window | Hard Ground Etching with aquatint on copperMy printmaking studio is in the basement of the house I have lived in for the last 35 years. For most of that time the windows were covered because of my darkroom. A handful of years ago when I started making photogravures I opened the window. I went to my backyard studio and made this still life of dry roses

Everyday on my walk I pass a stand of maple trees planted along the street

Sometimes a small detail or scene calls to me and I make a picture

later to be etched by the Ferric Chloride

I printed an edition of 7 numbered prints and  2 A/P prints

Dressed in some of her favorite clothes

It is contrasty and backward

I also made a few Platinum prints with a layer of Gum Bichromate on top giving the print a slight warm red hue

bumpy skin and beautiful sheen
