Thomas and Thomas "Classic" fly reelFor sale here is a scarce reel made for the Thomas and Thomas Rod Company in the late 1970's by the Hart reel company of Long Island, NY, makers of the Marquessa and Umpqua fly reels. Aluminum rings and delrin plates. Right hand retrieve. Cosmetically the reel is in near mint condition. The drag is adequately strong as is but adjusting the lever on the backplate does not result in a stronger drag. The reel comes with its original leather T&T reel

and Scott rod tube

Wells grip is in fine shape

The rod is marked as a 9 weight though with most Orvis rods a line size down is best

Who actually made the reels is still up for debate

and the reel seat is set up with a downlocking screw lock over a walnut spacer

There is a line burn on the stripping pillar but no surrounding cracks
