Maple | Soft Ground Etching on copper with Chine ColléEveryday on my walk I pass a stand of maple trees planted along the street, I love the iconic shape and texture. I have been experimenting with soft ground etching techniques and the maple trees came to mind, I walked down and borrowed one. Hand pulled print is made on a copper plate with Charbonnel soft ground. Using my press I used the leaf to mark the ground on the plate, later to be etched by the Ferric Chloride. I worked on this edition of prints during the holidays

We were staying at a member's home in the Columbia River Gorge and everyone was up early including Moi

Making self portraits is challenging

This collaboration started with a photograph of mine and the title: Wish You Were Here

" the photographs are mostly self-portraits and speak about my experiences as a middle-aged man

I later exchanged the photograph for this antique cut that was in my collection

it feels more important to me this way
