Peerless 1A Fly Reel

Peerless 1A Fly ReelA Peerless Model 1A fly reel, 2 3 4" diameter and set up for RHW. Near mint condition with just a few mounting marks on the foot but I could find little other signs of use despite a line being loaded on it. The reel weighs 5. 1 ounces on my scale with the line. Black anodized sideplates with a clear anodized frame, and the reel sports the classic S handle design. Built to hold lines up to a #4. Click and pawl drag that's adjusted via the drag lever on

A very high quality refinished rod that is a late 1940's or early 1950's vintage (I'm told that the refinish was done by Don Schroeder)

Western style grip 6 3/8" in length with light soiling

Brass ferrules fit together nicely and pop when pulled apart

Line Size: 5-8 weight

For sale here we have a Bob Nunley 8'0" 2/1 4wt bamboo rod

The serial number dates this to about 1971

One tip's silk wraps are a lighter tan color than the rest of the pumpkin color silks on the other three sections

The drag is very smooth and adequately strong

The reel comes in a black drawstring pouch

The poplin rod bag is tan and the all aluminum rod tube has the Jenkins data sticker affixed to it

The darker heat tempering effect on this rod is rarely seen with Winston rods
