Thomas and Thomas Limited Edition Quadrate Commemorative Rod 7' 2/2 #4An excellent Thomas and Thomas "Quad Commemorative" limited edition bamboo fly rod, 7', 2 piece, 2 tip, and built for a #4 line. This is #21 of 30 total that were originally built in 1991. The rod weighs 3. 3 ounces on my scale. Mint, uncast condition. The rod action is closer to dry fly than medium. Superbly executed cosmetics and perfect varnish. The cane is lightly oven tempered with two opposed node spacing. The main wraps are light tan with red
scratches or handling marks
The reel seat is made with a butternut spacer with an excellent coat of varnish underneath a slide band
The reel remains in mint condition
Serial number 074 of 250
The aluminum portion bears the stamp "Sold by / Abercrombie and Fitch / New York"
Spooled with a large amount of fluorescent orange backing and a green-colored line which I'm guessing is a #9 or #10
It is currently set up for right-hand-wind though we talked to Joe and he is happy to change it over for free at his shop if the buyer would prefer (less shipping)
The rod looks to be in original condition based on the wraps and varnish
The reel comes with an original EVH leather case in AMAZING condition
This reel was made for legendary fly fisherman
