The rod came to me from Mel's widow, Fanny. It's a 9 foot rod, 3 section, 2 tip hexagonal rod of Catskills taper design, having snake guides and agate stripping guide and tip tops. The tips comes in their separate tube case. The ferrules bear the patent numbers "Pat. Sept. 3. 1878" and "Pat. Oct. 26. 75". The reel seat is
