The "Deluxe" version of the late 1940s Special model had the owner's name hand inked by Paul on the butt section. The butt section of the rod is not marked with the typical Special ink stamp, but the rod is clearly a Special Deluxe. All sections are full length and straight. The rod features lightly flame tempered cane with bronze
