Perfection Fairy Fly ReelA limited edition "Fairy" reel from the Perfection Fly Reel Co. This reel is an homage to the original introduced by HL Leonard in 1894 to pair with their 37L and 38L rods. 15 of this limited edition were made in Winstead, CT. This one has been lightly used with a few trace cosmetic marks here and there but is in superb shape overall. Raise pillar design with hard rubber sideplates and nickel silver pillars, crank arm, footplate and screws. The spool

with some brassing to the rear cork check

since 1869" roller die stamp in the cartouche
and with a fairly neutral bias (the line guard is set up for LHW)
An excellent Dana Gray "Carlson Four" model bamboo fly rod
indicating a 1953 manufacture date
