The design is also based on similar finds from the famous Viking trading centre Birka (Sweden), specifically from graves 93B, 154, 716, 731, 855, 904, 943 and 956. These "type 3A bags" are known as "Birka Viking bags", although their origins actually lie on the Hungarian steppes. They were probably brought to Scandinavia as imported goods
