Gesture - photogravure print - The Weekly EditionI truly love making portrait photographs. I spent the 1st half of my career making portraits of people on commission and I felt like it was important work. Now when I find myself making portraits they are less about the identity of the sitter and more about the language of gesture. Hand pulled photogravure print is made with Gamblin bone black, Charbonnel bistre and sanguine inks on Hahnemhle copperplate paper. I printed an edition of 6 numbered

Gum over platinum was a big thing back in the day and a few folks were still making them when I made this one

Devon was over modeling for us and I made this portrait of her doing what she does best

and printing them with letterpress for my book editions I think about the time these words might exist
