Hoagy Carmichael Model 212 Bamboo Fly Rod 8'6" 2/2 #5/6A very nice Hoagy Carmichael Model 212 bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 2 piece, 2 tips, built for a #5 or #6 line (I might prefer it with a #6). It weighs 4. 6 ounces on my scale. Serial D 86 2. Hoagy only made three of these 212's in 8'6" length, and confirmed to me that he once fished this one on the River Test. A superb progressive medium action. Excellent very lightly used original condition. The grip has a touch of hand soiling but almost no other signs of
