Faith - photogravure print - The Weekly EditionI found this copper cross on the ground one day while walking. I was struck by the simple nature of this object, it looks hand sawed from a sheet of copper plate, with a small hole at the top. I like that this symbol means so many different things to so many people and the conversations it can start. I made the print small on a large sheet because it felt right for this, it is 4x5 inches on an 11x15 sheet. This hand pulled photogravure print is made

I printed an edition of 4numbered prints and  2 A/P prints

The power plant closed in 1993 and the 75 acre site became a public park

I made many platinum prints of this negative over the years and last week I made this edition of photogravures

When I made this print it looked like summertime feels to me

It is a special day for me to explore this old favorite negative in my new favorite printing process and see how I could interpret it as a photogravure
