Walt Carpenter Browntone Bamboo Fly Rod 9' 3/2 #9A very nice Walt Carpenter Browntone bamboo fly rod, 9', 3 piece, 2 tip, and built for a #9. Denoted "SDF" which I presume to mean "Salmon Dry Fly". Mint original condition with paper and gum strips on both the grip and fighting butt with Walt's initials on both. The rod was made in Chester, N. Y. and is serialized with No 1, 1998. It weighs 7. 3 ounces on my scale. Flamed cane in three up node pattern. Superb varnish. The wraps are dark brown with
The springs have been shaped slightly but this doesn't affect the out-going tension strength
The ferrules are size 14/64 and the fit is correct
The rod is packed in a tan-colored bag and a black anodized tube with a brass top and bottom
