Payne Fly Rod 8' 3/2 #5/6A nice EF Payne fly rod, 8' 3 piece, 2 tip for a #5 or #6 line. I believe this is either a model 201 or 202. This would work well as a semi full flexing action for a 6wt or a fast 5. Medium brown tone cane with the usual Payne node spacing. This rod appears to have been semi refinished sometime in its past. Good ferrule fits
This indicates very little use
An excellent Thomas and Thomas Hendrickson fly rod
The cigar grip shows moderate to good use patina
5 1/2" long cigar grip has been cleaned leaving it somewhat rough
The rod shows signs of having been refinished and whoever did it knew what they were doing as the varnish overcoat was expertly done
Put up in a colorful plaid bag and no tube
though there is a minor varnish repair on each tip between the 3rd and 4th guide
