The rod may have been restored at some point in its life

I measured it against the 3 3/4" Dingley Zefer reel for sale here on the website and noted the following differences:
There were less than 30 "Bob Doerr" models ever made and I'm guessing this may rank near the top of the heap as far as condition goes
spine ends and both cover corners bumped
Perfect working order
Diameter is the super rare 2 1/2"
No cracks in the ebonite and the screws are all in excellent condition
