Orvis CFO III Fly ReelA nice Orvis CFO III fly reel, 3" in diameter and set up for LHW though easily convertible. Excellent very lightly used condition with a few tiny cosmetic marks on the rim and some mounting marks on the foot, but very clean otherwise. Made in England. Loaded with a line on it and designed to hold up to a WF6 line + 50 yards of 20# backing. Comes in a brown suede zipper pouch.

which I presume is for accommodating the longer feet on early reels like Hardy's

Swift with an authoritative butt and a good amount of backbone

John Shaner of Hardy & Greys Limited inspected this reel and suggested to the prior owner that it was one of the finest old Bouglés he had come across

The tips have a kind of matte finish as if they have been rubbed but not polished

The large arbor spool holds WF7+200yds 20#

The seat is an aluminum uplocking screwlock with a detached slide with the logo "Thomas and Thomas
