A line and backing have been loaded on this reel but I can find no sign that it's ever been used. Made and assembled in the U. S. A. This is the largest of the Billy Pate series which includes the Trout, Salmon, Bonefish, Marlin, and Bluefin models. The main wraps are a light yellow with an extra edge of burgundy and darker yellow at the keeper

Manufactured in the early 1990's and crafted to hold four reels

on the medium side of medium-fast with terrific recovery

Currently set up for left hand retrieve but can be easily converted to right

For sale here is a Leonard Model 51-5 bamboo rod -- 8 1/2 feet

The node spacing appears to be spiral though some of the nodes are spaced fairly close together

The main wraps are honey colored with small red edges and a tin band of brown at the keeper

The rotating line guard appears to be made from aluminum

The tips are also inked with the the rod data just above each male ferrule

Leather Cases: Individually made with polished brass fittings by artisan Arne Mason of Oregon

Excellent used condition with some water marks in the anodized finish

The spool/spindle fit is as tight as they come
