I had been working with Catriona for 6 years when I made this photograph. I was at the time working to change the plane of focus in the frame as a way to introduce mystery and I made this picture. I printed it small on a smaller than usual sheet out of my love for small objects. This hand pulled photogravure print is made with Charbonnel carbon black and raw

Meanwhile I have been fascinated by them all these years

waiting for a strike of inspiration

As I sorted my own way I found myself looking for pictures that communicated a comforting sense of calm to myself and the viewer

I decided on an edition of 8 numbered prints and 2 A/P prints
