J Bernard and Sons Reel 4 1/2"A J. Bernard and Sons salmon reel, 4 1 2" reel and set up for RHW. Nice overall condition with some normal cosmetic wear but no major defects that I could find. Simple check mechanism with a tension adjuster that functions well and is nice and smooth. Weighs 18. 3 ounces with line and backing loaded on it. Brass foot approximately 3 1 8" long that is pretty straight with just a slight ripple on one side. The Erinoid handle spins freely. No bag.

This one is serial #5 as etched into the base of the n/s butt cap and on the brass tube cap

Both the reel and extra spool come packed in original green cordura pouches

Down-locking swaged and knurled slide band reel-seat

The rod is as straight as the day it left the shop

and a very small nick in the varnish on the butt section

but Bob Summers applied a bit of over-varnish to this area and it's not a concern

The rod remains in excellent plus condition with no issues to disclose
