Serial #8443 which dates to 1984, just post Maxwell. The rod weighs 4. 3 ounces. Fast DF action. Lightly used condition with the start of cosmetic ferrule cracks , a bit of guide brassing and a tiny bit of hardware brassing. The grip has been sanded, leaving it somewhat rough. Just post Tom Maxwell at Leonard the company went to belt sanding nodes down

Guide wraps are brown with edge wraps of black

The grip is 7" long and shaped to a western profile with the characteristic Powell flare two thirds of the way toward the top

Ebonite handle that's slightly flared at the end

The reel comes housed in a beautiful Arne Mason leather reel case
