Serial #102 from the Brian McGrath era. Hunt model with a medium crisp DF action. The rod has seen very light use with some brassing to the inner guides and a hit of hand soiling to the grip. Flamed cane done in a three up node pattern. Excellent varnish. Maroon main wraps with a #8 SRMC stripper and bronze snakes. Large hoop

This rod was one of the favorite mentioned by Charlie Phair in his early (and excellent) book on atlantic salmon fishing

the action is medium fast

Comes with its original cordura reel pouch and a spare spool

The rod mounts into a deluxe wooden box lined with blue velvet and mounted with brass hinges and snaps

the rod was made in 1947 by John Rosencrantz

Light gold color frame with black ventilated sideplates and a black foot

The ferrule fits are tight and the rod is as straight as the day it left the T&T shop
