Gary Howells Bamboo Fly Rod 7'6" 2/2 #4A very nice Gary Howells bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 2 piece, 2 tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #4916. The rod weighs 3. 2 ounces on my scale. Mint condition with the original paper on the grip. Medium action. The cane is a medium to dark wheatstraw oven temper with two opposed nodes. It is a marvel that Gary could put out as many rods as he did with this kind of superior varnish finish just superb. #8 carbide stripper and chrome guides and tip tops.

Unfortunately the nickel silver uplocking screwlock has some damage due to what appears to have been a set of pliers which has also created a little cosmetic damage to the walnut spacer
