Peerless 1A Fly Reel

Peerless 1A Fly ReelA nice Peerless model 1A fly reel, 2 32 4" diameter and set up for LHW. The reel weighs 4. 3 ounces on my scale. Mint condition. Black anodized sideplates with a frost anodized frame, foot, spool, adjuster knob, and oil port cover. Stainless screws and an aluminum serpentine handle and counterbalance. The reels packs into a leather zipper pouch with the Peerless logo embossed on the top.

The reel seat is an aluminum downlock over a butternut spacer

Manufactured in the early 1990's and crafted to hold four reels

and the tip top is size 5/64

The ferrules are slightly truncated swiss-style and are oxidized

The rod is put up in a brown cloth bag and an aluminum tube with a brass top and collar

The tips are about an inch shorter than the butt section

The gray frost coated large size rod tube has a gold anodized collar and top with Robert's data sheet fixed to the tube

All silk wraps are still very solid - no fraying

The tips are distinguished by a 1 or 2 at the ferrules along with the serial number

Exquisite (as always) brown silks tipped black (included on the Deluxe models)
