"Leonard Salmon Series 72 9" is inked on the shaft, as well as "83 5" on the opposing flat. Based on the serial number the rod was built in 1983 just post Maxwell. The rod weighs 6. 5 ounces on my scale. Powerful full flexing action. Near mint condition with some very minor tanning to the grip and few other real signs of use. The ferrule

The reel operates as if it's like new

with some loss of the finish in places and there is a moderate line groove on the corner of the crossbar in one place and there is a tiny bit of play to the spool though it's pretty minimal

Excellent used condition with a few small scratches on the rim and some general minor handling marks

with yellow edges and purple at the keeper
